Laurens Higler is currently following a masters programme in Urban Planning at the University of Amsterdam. He is also active for the 'Young Democrats', a political youth organization affiliated with the Dutch Social-Liberal party D66. Previously he followed internships at FairFood International and the D66 Parliamentary group. Laurens also worked as a student-assistant at the VU University where he was involved with research on attitudes towards immigrants and statistics education. In 2012 he finished his first masters programme on international development studies at the University of Amsterdam by doing research on the social networks that are related to the provision of water in the rapidly expanding Indian city Mira-Bhayandar.
