Today is a milestone for The Broker. The 25th issue of our magazine has been snail-mailed to subscribers world wide this afternoon, featuring a 16-page special report on the future of EU-ACP relations. And, a couple of hours ago the proverbial switch was turned to make our completely new website go live! And thus: Welcome.

The look & feel of our new website – pleasing to the eye, we think – is not all that has changed. The content of our site, which after 4 years of accumulation had become rather inaccessible, is now organized according to The Broker’s core themes. These are five to start with, Global Development one of them.

The theme pages are meant to present focused content to our readers, and to enhance the opportunities for exchange and debate between policy makers, academics, and professionals. At the same time, the many links between these five theme pages illustrate that development and justice issues in today’s globalised world can only be considered usefully in relation to each other.

In this editor’s blog I will try to keep track of, and comment on, the latest research, must-read publications, conferences and current affairs in the field of global development. I hope it can become an entry point for exchange between those of you who work in this area. Feel free to feed me with suggestions about publications, blogs or events that deserve to be highlighted – please use frans@thebrokeronline.eu.

This blog is the continuation of the general editor's blog I ran - every now and then - for some years.
