Deborah Eade, a writer and editor with 30 years’ experience in the international development and humanitarian field. Throughout the 1980s, she worked with local and international NGOs in Mexico and Central America, where she became actively involved in popular feminism and developed her interest in humanitarian and human rights issues. In 1991 she became editor-in-chief of the journal Development in Practice, a position she held until 2010. Her many publications include The Oxfam Handbook of Development and Relief (with Suzanne Williams) and Capacity Building: A People-centred Approach to Development. For a full listing, please visit:
