Sylvia Kay has been working as a researcher on topics including land grabbing, water, and agricultural investment at the Transnational Institute (TNI) in Amsterdam since October 2011. Prior to that, she worked as a research assistant to Raj Patel on a journal article on the history of the Green Revolution. She has also worked at Wageningen University and at the Society for International Development (SID). She holds a BA in International Relations and Sociology from the University of Sussex and an MSc in Global Politics from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She currently lives in The Hague, The Netherlands.
