Gordana Knezevic is senior journalist working for Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) and former award-winning editor of the Sarajevo daily Oslobodjenje. She was the director of RFE/RL’s Balkan Service between 2008 and 2016. Now Gordana writes ‘Balkans Without Borders’ for RFE/RL, a personal commentary on contemporary Balkan politics and culture. For her work covering the siege of Sarajevo from 1992–1994, she received a number of international awards, including the Courage in Journalism Award from the International Women’s Media Foundation. From 1996 to 2008, she was based in Toronto, Canada as the online desk editor at Reuters. She also served two terms at the Board of Canadian Journalists for Free Expression.
