Dr. Kathrin Knüppe is a research fellow at the Institute of Environmental Systems Research, University of Osnabrück. Her main research interests are water resources management, adaptive governance, ecosystem services, sustainability research, and adaptation to climate change. Currently she is working on a new research project dealing with water related trade-offs between human and environmental water needs in times of global change. Therefore she compares water governance and management systems across different river basins from China, Australia, Europe, and Africa.
She holds a PhD from University of Osnabrück. Her dissertation was about adaptive groundwater governance and the sustainable management of ecosystem services. Before her PhD, Kathrin studied Landscape Ecology at the University of Münster, Germany.
