Vanessa is a knowledge broker in the field of global sustainable development and has both theoretical and practical knowledge of international development policies. She connects networks of academics, policy-makers and practitioners to fine-tune and advance their knowledge activities.
Vanessa gained broad knowledge in this field whilst working at the Dutch Scientific Council for Government Policy (WRR), Partos (the umbrella organization for Dutch NGOs), the Dutch expertise and advisory centre for citizenship and international cooperation (NCDO), as well as the JongOS network for young professionals in development cooperation. Since September 2013, Vanessa has been working part-time for The Broker for the Food and Business Knowledge Platform, one of the five Dutch Knowledge Platforms for global development. At The Broker she is responsible for the development of the general knowledge policy of the organization.
Vanessa has a degree in Sociology and Public Administration from the University of Amsterdam.
