Richard Reeve is the Director of Oxford Research Group's (ORG) Sustainable Security Programme, where his work focuses on rethinking UK and international security policy and the implications of foreign military intervention in Africa and the Middle East. He has been a professional analyst of politics and security in the Sahel since 2000.

Prior to joining ORG, Richard was Head of Research at International Alert, a Research Fellow at the Humanitarian Futures Programme, King’s College London, an Associate Fellow of the Africa Programme at Chatham House, and Africa Country Risk Editor with Jane’s Information Group. As a consultant, he has worked with the African Union, Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), European Union, and Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).
