Canadian development has been in crisis since the 1990s. A lack of leadership and policy direction has impelled the development community to generate a series of studies calling for the reform of Canadian aid architecture.▶
Molly den Heyeris a doctoral candidate at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada. Her current research uses a critical interpretative approach to explore Canadian aid policy in Tanzania with a particular focus on aid effectiveness. Prior to returning to her academic studies, Molly worked as a planning and evaluation specialist for a number of development organizations including the International Development Research Centre and First Nations Communities in Nova Scotia. The mix of research and practice informs her role as a consultant, student and part-time lecturer.
