Ton Dietz is professor of human geography and scientific director of the Amsterdam Institute for Metropolitan and International Development Studies (AMIDSt) at the University of Amsterdam. He is also member of the steering committee of the Worldconnectors, a collaborative initiative of the Society for International Development, Netherlands (SID NL), the Development Policy Review Network (DPRN) and the National Commission for Sustainable Development in the Netherlands(NCDO).
