Roeland Muskens
Roeland Muskens (1956) studied international relations at the University of Amsterdam, and has worked as an independent journalist and researcher since 1992. He is a partner in the research bureau Wereld in Woorden, which specializes in international relations, globalization and development cooperation. Previously he was Editor in Chief of Internationale Samenwerking (published by the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs), economic researcher for the Dutch Chile Committee, and editor of Geografie (published by the Royal Dutch Geographical Society).
Is circular migration the ‘silver bullet’ for achieving a ‘triple win’ – for the host countries, the migrants’ countries of origin, and the migrants themselves? Reaching a real win–win–win situation will require more than just positive thinking.
