It’s been six months in the making, and here it is: Our synthesis report on collaborating with religious actors for sustainable development. Commissioned by Prisma, Woord & Daad, Dorcas, Tearfund NL and World Vision NL our knowledge brokers Martha & Yannicke embarked on this process in October last year. The synthesis report we present today is the result of the first phase of this project.
In October 2021 we began a process investigating the added value of faith-based organisations in development efforts. We talked to various actors, representing faith-based organisations (FBOs), secular development organisations, policymakers and academics. Their contributions, combined with the insights gained from our own literature review, were brought together in a draft version of the synthesis report. This report was then discussed and reflected upon in a multi-stakeholder workshop. Input collected during this workshop was used to fine-tune the synthesis report – et voilà: you can download it here.
Presently, Martha & Yannicke, now joined by our team member Ninja, are working on 3 case studies that serve to validate and add depth and nuance to the research findings so far. Keep an eye out for those, because the first one will arrive soon!
